About Aloys Wijngaards

Aloys Wijngaards PhD (1981) is a postdoc within the research project. He graduated from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2012. The subject of his PhD thesis was the possibility of establishing a connection between public theology and economics (see: ‘Worldly Theology – on connecting public theology and economics’). He has written several academic articles and publications in this field. Since 2012 Aloys has been working at De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch Central Bank and Prudential Financial Authority, as a senior policy adviser, and currently as deputy company secretary.

Within the research project Aloys focuses primarily on the development of educational material, in which perspectives on different religions and world views are elaborated. The educational material fits in the project regarding the development of a new method for the subject ‘economics’ taught at Dutch secondary schools. This project is led by professor Lans Bovenberg, who is also involved in our research project.
