Ad Verbrugge is one of the best known Dutch philosophers operating in the field of practical and cultural philosophy. He has written several books on postmodern society, some of which have become bestsellers in the Netherlands and have influenced the public debate on several cultural, economical and moral issues. He is founder and president of Beter Onderwijs Nederland – an association for the improvement of education in the Netherlands that has become very influential in the political and public debate on the quality of Dutch educational institutions. On several issues he is an academic counselor for the Dutch government. He regularly publishes philosophical essays in Dutch quality newspapers and magazines. He has his own philosophical programs on national radio and television together with Dutch quality journalists.
